Type transmission device Computer Networking

type of cable used for computer networks

Coaxial Cable
Twisted Pair Cable
Fiber Optic Cable

Coaxial Cable

These cables are often used as a TV antenna cable. Also referred to as cable BNC (Bayonet Naur Connector). This cable is a cable that is most widely used on LANs, because it has protection against the higher regions, inexpensive, and capable of transmitting data at speeds of standards. There are 2 types of RG-58 (10Base2) and RG-8 (10Base5). There are 3 types of connectors on the coaxial cable, the T connector, the first connector (socket) and a BNC connector.

The advantage of using coaxial cables are:

         cheap and distance
         far-reaching enough.

The drawback is:

difficult at the time of installation.
For current coaxial cable is no longer recommended intuk network installation

The following example sightings of coaxial cable:

Twisted Pair cable
on cable , there are two types:STP ( Shield Twisted Pair )UTP ( Unshielded Twisted Pair )
STP ( Shield Twisted Pair )
The advantage of using STP cable is more resistant to interference from electromagnetic waves both from within and from outside . The drawback is expensive , difficult at the time of installation ( especially the grounding problem ) , and the distance range is only 100m
the following example :

UTP ( Unshielded Twister Pair )
The advantages of using UTP cable is cheap and easy to install . The drawback is susceptible to electromagnetic wave interference , and only reach a distance of 100m

There are several categories for Twisted Pair cable , namely :
Category 1 ( Cat - 1 ) .
Generally using standard AWG solid conductors with 22 or 24 pins with wide impedance range . Used to connect the phone and not recommended for data transmission .
Category 2 ( Cat - 2 ) .
Wide impedance range , often used in PBX systems and alarm systems . ISDN data transmission usingcable category 2 , with a maximum bandwidth of 1 Mbps .
Category 3 ( Cat - 3 ) .
Often called voice grade cable , using solid conductors were 22 or 24 pin with an impedance of 100 Ω andserves up to 16 MBps . Can be used for 10BaseT and Token Ring network with a bandwidth of 4 Mbps .
Category 4 ( Cat - 4 ) .
Such as category 3 with a bandwidth of 20 MBps , applied on a Token Ring network with a bandwidth of 16 Mbps .
Category 5 ( Cat - 5 ) .
Twisted Pair cable is best (data grade ) with a bandwidth of 100 Mbps and a maximum transmission range of 100 m .

Fiber Optic Cable
There are three types of fiber optic cable that is normally used , ie single mode , multi- mode and plastic optical fiber which servesas the light guide from the cable end to the other end of the cable . ^ Receiver from the transmitter , which converts light into electronic pulses and vice versa , in the form of light - emitting diodes or lasers . Single- mode fiber optic cable is a single glass fiber with a diameter of 8.3 to 10 micrometers , have one type of transmission that can deliver large-capacity data at high speeds for long distances , and requires a light source with a spectral width smaller . The ability of cable types within a single mode of transmission is delivering 50 times faster than multimode cable types , because it has a smaller core so as to eliminate any distortion and light pulses overlapping .
Multimode fiber optic cable is made of fiberglass with a larger diameter , ie 50 to 100 micrometers that can deliver large capacity of data at high speed to medium range . If the distance is more than 3000 feet , there will be distortion of the signal at the receiving end which resulted in data transmission becomes inaccurate .Medium plastic optical'fiber is the latest plastic -based cable which ensures the same level of performance with the glass fiber within a short distance at a cost that is much cheaper . Currently , fiber optic cable has been used as the standard data in the physical layer biding telecommunications or network , such as cable TV devices , also security systems that use Closed Circuit Television ( CCTV ) , and other basic materials of optical glass with the size of the media is very small ( micron -scale ) . Usually known as fibreoptic ( fiber optic ) . data that is passed in this medium in the form of light ( laser or infrared )
One piece fiber optic cable consists of two fibers , one function for Transmit ( Tx ) and one for Receive ( Rx ) so that the fiber optic communication can occur both directions simultaneously ( full duplex ) .

ST connectors are typically used for singlemode

SC connector is usually used for the multimode

Types - Types of Computer Networks

there are several types of computer networks that we know the following types - types of computer networks:

LAN (Local Area Network)
MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)
WAN (Wide Area Network)

okay I'll discuss my friend for the type of network types:

LAN (Local Area Network)
Network of computers that are connected to a computer server by using specific topologies, typically used in
area of the building or area that distance is not more than 1 km.

MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)
Computer networking in a single interconnected distance city areas can be more than 1 km. The option to build a network inter-office computer in a city, a school in the city.

WAN (Wide Area Network)
Computer network connecting many LANs to
in an integrated network, between one network to another network can be within
thousands of kilometers or integral geography by using a specific communication method.

UNDERSTANDING COMPUTER NETWORK

The computer network is a group of interconnected autonomous computers
with each other, using a specific media and communication protocol, so it can share data and information.
Computer networks allow for more efficient communication between users (mail and teleconference).
